New Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne

Newly appointed Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne said that he will be fully committed towards making Sri Lanka a developed country. It is his expectation that a favorable environment for goodwill among all people can be created while moving forward with the Mahinda Chintana policy. He invited the public to join them devoid of party differences to accomplish this task. He said while fulfilling this duty they hope to eliminate hatred and jealousy that prevail among parties and to venture into the path towards development. He invited party leaders and others to join them. He noted that there are five communities in the country. It is the desire of the Government to create an administration and an economy that would be fair towards all. He made these statements while addressing the new parliament members at the inaugural session of the 7th Parliament. source news.lk
