Sri Lanka plans to create a Guinness record with massive tree planting campaign to mark the beginning of the second term of office of the President, Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Minister of Environment Anura Priyadharshana Yapa said that measures had been finalized for the "Deyata Sevana" National Tree Planting Programme that is to be held on 15th of November where 1.1 million trees will be planted island wide within 11 minutes on the day.

The President's 65th birthday falls on November 18th and the day marks the end of his first term in Office as President of the republic. President is scheduled to be sworn in for his second term on 19th in Colombo.
