The United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) secured a resounding victory at the Uva provincial Council elections gaining a total number of 418,906 votes (72.39%). 25 UPFA members were elected. The United National Party (UNP) polled 129,144 votes (22.32%). Only 7 UNP members were elected. The People's Liberation Front (JVP) obtained 14,639 votes (2.53%), while the Up-Country People's Front obtained 9,227 votes (1.59%). 1 member each from both parties were elected.
