United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) recorded a landslide victory by winning Colombo, Kalutara and Gampaha districts in the WPC election 2009.
In the Colombo district UPFA has received 530,370 votes by obtaining 25 seats, while UNP received 327,571 votes and won 15 seats. JVP polled 21,787 votes and won 1 seat, Sri Lanka Muslim Congress gained 18,978 votes winning 1 seat and Democratic United Alliance got 8,584 votes and bagged 1 seat.
According to Final District Results of the Gampaha , UPFA has won 27 seats by receiving 624,530 votes while UNPÂ received 236,256 votes by obtaining 10 seats. JVP was able to get 21,491 votes wining 01 seat and SLMC bagged 1 seat obtaining 18, 014 votes.
In the Kalutara district, UPFA has obtained 351215 votes by winning 14 seats while UNP received 124426 votes with 5 seats and JVP was able to win 1 seat receiving 13,106 votes.
