The Department of Government Information has organized an Essay Competition under the theme “The new era of post-Independence Sri Lanka” to mark the 63rd Independence Day celebrated protecting the country re-built with the end of three- decade old war for GCE O/L and A/L students. This essay incorporating the details of the Socio -economic changes that are taking place after the end of three decade old war in the country could be submitted in Sinhala , Tamil or English languages within 1000 words and students over 15 years of age could take part in this competition.
While the winner will be awarded with certificate and valuable prize, the winning essay will be published in the souvenir of the Government Information Department to mark the 63rd Independence Day celebrations.
The students who wish to take part in this essay competition under the theme “The new era of Post-Independence Sri Lanka” are requested to submit their own essays with the certification of the Principal of the school in which the they study to reach Director General of Information, Dept of Government Information, No 163 Kirullapone Avenue Colombo 05 on or before January 10, 2011 by registered post. On the top left corner of the Envelop it should be mentioned as ‘for Essay Competition”.
