Defence Ministry will not forget War Hero families

Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa has emphasized Defence Ministry will not forget the families of the war heroes and is bound to look after their needs in a responsible manner.

He said that it is the duty and obligation of the people to protect and assist them.The Defence Secretary opined that the Government was able to achieve victory in the war within the 4 years. It was reached thanks to the strength and courage of the Armed Forces. Gotabaya Rajapaksa attributed the gains to the sacrifices made by the forces in the past 30 years.

The Defence Secretary was addressing a ceremony to felicitate the war heroes. It was held at the Commando Headquarters in Ganemulla. Medals were presented to parents of war heroes who made supreme sacrifices in the battlefront on behalf of the motherland.
