Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake declared President Mahinda Rajapaksa the winner of Tuesday’s presidential election.
President Rajapaksa secured 6,015,934 or 57.88 per cent of the vote against the 4,173,185 or 40.15 per cent secured by closest rival opposition common candidate Sarath Fonseka.
