The leadership crisis within the United National party (UNP) took a new turn when MPs critical of the party leader, Ranil Wickremesinghe, tabled a No Confidence Motion against him during a meeting of the UNP Parliamentary Group held at the Parliamentary Complex yesterday (March
18). UNP Deputy General Secretary Lakshman Seneviratne in proposing a Vote of No Confidence on Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the intransigent leader should resign from the posts of Party Leader and the Leader of the Opposition. The Motion was seconded by Ranjith Madduma Bandara, MP.
